On its opening day, the film collected ₹3.5 crore (US$440,000), despite facing competition from “Bigil.” In Chennai alone, the film earned ₹40 lakh (US$50,000) on the first day. The second day saw collections of around ₹2.8 crore (US$350,000), followed by approximately ₹4.7 crore (US$590,000) on the third day. The cumulative weekend collection reached ₹11 crore (US$1.4 million), with ₹1.07 crore (US$130,000) from Chennai.
By the end of the first week, the film’s box office collection amounted to about ₹25 crore (US$3.1 million). According to the International Business Times, the film grossed ₹70 crore (US$8.8 million) worldwide in the initial 10 days. This included ₹35 crore (US$4.4 million) from Tamil Nadu, ₹5.5 crore (US$690,000) in Kerala, nearly ₹10 crore (US$1.3 million) in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, and over ₹7 crore (US$880,000) in Karnataka. Additionally, the film garnered ₹13 crore (US$1.6 million) from overseas markets.
In the second week, increased screenings bolstered the film’s collections, reaching ₹83.4 crore (US$13 million) globally within 12 days. On November 12, 2019, the makers officially declared that the film had crossed the ₹100 crore (US$15.59 million) mark worldwide, marking Karthi’s first film to achieve this milestone. The breakdown of collections includes ₹56.5 crore (US$7.1 million) from Tamil Nadu, ₹15.1 crore (US$1.9 million) from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, ₹6.2 crore (US$780,000) from Kerala, ₹7.43 crore (US$930,000) from Karnataka, and ₹1.87 crore (US$230,000) from the rest of the country. The film’s final collection stands at ₹105 crore (US$13 million), with a net collection of ₹74.5 crore (US$9.3 million).

Plot
Now Watch Khaidi Movie in Telugu. Coming into the Story of Khaidi… At an orphanage, caretakers share with a young girl, Amudha, the anticipation of meeting an important person the next day. Simultaneously, Inspector Bejoy and his team intercept a van smuggling 900 kilos of cocaine, detaining both the drugs and the criminals at the commissioner’s office. The mastermind, Adaikalam, a notorious smuggler, remains elusive. Seeking revenge, Adaikalam’s brother, Anbu, aims to capture and eliminate the police officers involved in the bust.
During the Inspector General’s retirement party, spiked alcohol renders the city’s top-ranked police officials unconscious. Bejoy, spared due to medication, enlists the help of Dilli, an ex-prisoner, to transport the unconscious officers to the hospital. Threatening Dilli with the denial of a meeting with his daughter Amudha, Bejoy, along with Kamatchi, a caterer, borrows a truck for the task.
As they navigate through various challenges, gangsters pursue Bejoy and his team. A corrupt cop, Paalpandi, pretends to be unconscious but secretly aids the pursuing gangs. Bejoy instructs Constable Napoleon and detained college students to block exits, preventing Anbu’s gangsters from freeing Adaikalam’s men.
Amidst confrontations with various gangs, Dilli fiercely handles them. Anbu is subdued by the students, but Paalpandi, feigning recovery, betrays Dilli by stabbing him. A tense negotiation occurs, but Bejoy cancels the deal upon realizing Adaikalam is among the captives. Anbu’s attempt to infiltrate the commissioner’s office is thwarted, with Napoleon incapacitating him.
Dilli, Bejoy, and Kamatchi transfer the officers to a school bus but encounter Anbu’s heavily armed gang led by Tips. Paalpandi, now recovered, attacks Dilli, leading to a violent confrontation. Dilli manages to overcome the attackers, rescuing Bejoy and Kamatchi. Anbu’s men capture and kill a student in retaliation.
Infuriated, Napoleon incapacitates Anbu with a fire extinguisher, while Adaikalam vows revenge. Dilli, Bejoy, and Kamatchi enter the building. Dilli, using a secret passage, sends the students to safety while he and Napoleon decide to burn the cocaine. They discover a minigun and decide to eliminate Adaikalam’s gang.
As the goons breach the building, Dilli and Napoleon use the minigun to repel Anbu’s gang. The police officers are revived, and Stephen Raj, the Narcotics Division head, is arrested. Bejoy expresses gratitude to Dilli, promising a better life for him and Amudha. Amudha, brought by Nalini, Dilli’s probation officer, reunites with her father in tears of joy.
In the prison cell, Adaikalam recognizes Dilli as the man who disrupted their operation. The story concludes with Dilli, Amudha, and Kamatchi embarking on a new life, walking on the highway towards Uttar Pradesh.
